PURPOSE

Our Reason

The Washington County SOC structure enables the convening of the

stakeholders and partners that create Washington County’s System of

Care (SOC). The SOC framework is a coordinated network of services and

supports that are organized to meet the physical, mental, social, emotional,

educational, and developmental needs of youth and their families.

To be successful, Washington County stakeholders must partner with all

child-serving agencies within the community. This is an opportunity for our

community to work together to promote health and wellness.

We seek to share responsibilities and resources to best support our

community members.

We are committed to no wrong door into services.

We are committed to the right service at the right time in

collaboration with children, their families and their providers.

We are committed to a common language; strengths based;

one which minimizes acronyms and reflects understanding of

our partners’ areas of expertise and their role and or/mandate

in service to our constituents.

We commit to building upon strengths and through the lens

of trauma-informed care.

We understand that our county’s geography will require our

steadfast commitment to advocate for transportation, cultural

and ethnic awareness and sensitivity as well as funding

opportunities.

We commit to the being creative and joining with one another

to create meaningful relationships and opportunities for

personal, professional, program and system growth and

healthier, happier children and families who are empowered to

meet their personal best.

We recognize capacity limitations within individual service

providers and the system as a whole and remain steadfast in

finding opportunities to build capacity for individual providers,

the network, and ultimately the children and families we serve.
